Delete your data
Shapie has no login, so there is no account name to close. What there is: an encrypted database on your phone, and — only if you turned sync on — an encrypted copy on our servers behind a random identifier. Here is how to remove both. It takes about a minute and needs no request form.
- 1
Delete the cloud copy
Only if you turned sync on. In Settings, open sync and choose Delete cloud copy. The encrypted copy and its key are removed from our servers and the phone is signed out. Everything on the phone itself stays.
- 2
Reset the phone data
Settings → Reset all data replaces your ledger with an empty one: transactions, budgets, goals, categories and settings are gone from the device. It cannot be undone, so export a CSV first if you want a copy.
- 3
Cancel Shapie PRO
Deleting data does not cancel billing, because the subscription lives in your store account. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
Export first if you want a copy
Settings → Export CSV saves every transaction to a file you can keep. Deletion cannot be undone, and we cannot restore data for you: the cloud copy is encrypted with a key we never hold.
What gets deleted
- Your encrypted cloud records and the wrapped key that opens them.
- The random sync identifier that pointed at them.
- Everything Shapie stored on the device, once you reset.
Cloud records are removed immediately and drop out of encrypted backups within 30 days.
What stays, and why
- Purchase and refund records held by Apple or Google, which they keep for tax and accounting reasons.
- Anonymous product analytics that were never linked to your name or your finances.
- Mails you sent us, kept while we need them for support, then deleted.
If you cannot open the app
Lost the phone, or deleted the app before wiping it? Write to[email protected]and we will help. Be aware of the trade-off that privacy buys: we hold no name or email, so we cannot look you up from a mail alone. If you still have your recovery phrase, reinstalling Shapie and signing back in lets you delete the cloud copy properly. Untouched sync data is deleted automatically after 24 months of inactivity.
More detail on what is stored lives in the Privacy Policy. Cancelling billing is covered in the subscription terms.
